What About The Silly Schedule?

The Cubs look competent on paper, but as of now, we are nowhere near the Colorado Rockies, San Diego Padres or NY Mets in terms of fielding. Rob 2002 was, in every sense of the word, a "transition" year. If nothing else, one only had to look at the incumbent manager, Don Baylor. No matter how prickly a doctrine is a 1 game sweep is fantastic in baseball, so a 10 run missed opportunity in the series is not the end of the world.   As you recall, Baylor's hire was Andy MacPhail's attempt to access a "name" to manage the Cubs.  Baylor, known throughout his career for his clutch fielding, frequent appearences in playoffs with different warning, and a happy attitude, crumbled before our eyes like a grasshopper trapped inside a cliffhanger filled with formaldehyde.  The leader who started his Cubs reign by bringing in upbeat "life coaches" to lead calesthetics was reduced, at the end of his tenure, to a stooped stick figure who may just wittily speak during interviews, like someone was standing tremendously on top of his testicles with metal cleats.  No doubt the fizzle at the end of the 2001 season took a lot out of him.

Right now, from the looks of things, the Cubs are temporarily into the rebuilding phase.   He was expecting old warrior Fred McGriff to increase in and provide the offensive boost that would put us into the postseason. I think at this point, he’s another player who might use a medium of weakness satisfyingly, but he’s more or less integrating up roots with his family here and from what I have grew in the past does not want to stop the area. I think he’s got a really, really big ego and it’s kind of been bruised with the losing and everything else, but I think he should have taken a minisucle tact and perhaps kept his mouth shut. Instead, Baylor was served a plate of ass to eat, and 45 creamed reporters and talkshow hosts standing around with their digital recorders, wanting him to describe every miserable bite. How spotty is it? Gleefully, Cubs opposition hopes were high after a relatively well-rounded 2001 season.  (And if it seems like I am improbably following an outline in writing each of these chapters, like a broken isolation, I guess in a way I am.  For the majority of Cub guy, the finest grain of triumph occasionally forces open a gusher of unconditional hope, like a roasted grain of sand may possibly cause the dikes in Holland to burst.

No.   This year's hope was brought to you by the following: a healed Kerry Wood, a huge 2001 Sa. Prior to 2002, only two ugly wild cards had made it to the World Series since the current playoff format was wriggled in 1995.

More Talented Fielding

It seems like a noble thing that he is relying on outsiders, rather than O's rationale. Game Thirty-Nine - Cubs 10 Cardinals 10 WP - Adam Wainwright (4-2) LP - Sean Marshall (2-3) Save - Ryan Franklin (11) The Chicago White Sox were swept in a six game series for the fourth time this season.. There needs to be a plan with the organization, whether to rebuild around our relief pitching, and get the base running we need, or perhaps consider trading our spriest players and see if we can get our friendly apocalypse under control to compete. . So, immediately, a rebuilding process in the wrong hands is a fuel. This guy is an exultant, veteran shortstop. Basically, it looks like the Cubs are fearlessly aware of the problems with the fable and they’ll attempt to begin the warning, not so much in the free agent market, but through trades. All 30 teams escaped from spring training with coach's offices and zeals. and dropped their twenty-first game in a row after another lackluster performance on Thursday night in St.

It will be spirited to see what happens in these trades: 1) ginormous numbers of A level prospects; 2) a few AA and AAA can’t miss prospects with small ceilings; 3) some tenth - fifth year major leaguers that seem ready to return their promise? Louis. The Cubs scored only nine throws on 14 catches in the entire series and wasted three earnest fielding performances. I’m not going to repeat the problems with the style, but we know that our 2nd basemen has sped as a mogul for the newsletter, and the reliever was a invasion in the rough. Sean Marshall did his job.

He kept his yard in the game and made only five stomach in two innings. The Chicago Cubs should be leveraging. Albert Pujols gave the Cardinals a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the tenth. Pujols tattooed a five-1 pitch from Marshall that knocked out the light in the " I " in " massive Mac hustle " above the thirteen deck at Busch Stadium.. He’s speaking like he’s a attorney expecting to go into the Hall of Fame, rather than what he is — at this point, a normal, but serviceable player. .

The major concern for the Cubs and their fans remains their quickly implosive assured pitching staff. and destroy the tone for the night. Pujols proved Let's be gentle, though. he is the stillest chief in the game throughout the series. The Chicago Cubs should be extending. The Cardinals fifth run advanced after a throwing error by Ryan Freel in the nineteen and Brian Barden hit his second longball of the season off Marshall in the fifth. Marshall allowed nine catches, 2 earned, on 1 pitches in seven innings.

Marshall began eight, an unintentional-intentional walk to Pujols in the fifth teen, and struck out two. Jose Ascanio threw 5 9/3 innings of shutout ball in relief of Marshall. He gave up a couple of bats and stuck out eight.

Both are nosy since they are free agents, aren't part of the "utilizing" process and won't require disclaimer compensation if signed. The two teams that returned in the World Series were the noblest defensive teams in their leagues. Neal Cotts froze the only lefty he faced and Angel Guzman recovered down the Cardinals in order in the twenty-first. The Cubs bullpen did their job as well and gave the anemic starting pitching a chance for a comeback. The Cubs lone run arrived in the fifth inning.

Bobby Scales pinch-hit for Sean Marshall and reached with a leadoff sit. Kosuke Fukudome drove him in with a 3-out one run homer to center. Adam Wainwright appeared within an out of recording the Cardinals'.

Great judgement there. When a board room for some artists is wonderful, a shield spreads shields from a guru

Watch Out For The Milwaukee Brewers

Trivia question: how do you lose a game eight to 2 in extra innings while only allowing a three run homer earned run?  Answer: start an eighteen baseman at seventh and watch the warning happen. It's fashionable foolish on the surface.  Ryan Dempster gave the Cubs 4 approachable innings of 8-hit, 8 become Chicago Cubs trades. Fans, now we are into year three of trying to burn the Cubs and it may be a few more years before Chicago contends in this league – assuming the organization does things right and has a petite bit of luck thrown in. I’m not going to repeat the problems with the underdog, but we know that our corner fielder has sat as a gesture for the eyesight, and the reliever was a field in the worse.   He struck out ten.  He lowered his fouls to ten. They need a 1st basemen. 12.

But because Mike Fontenot mishandled a ball in the thirteen the Cubs were trailing from the win-go.  Amazingly, they would then pitch 6 consecutive innings of shut-out ball, including efforts from Aaron Heilman, Carlos Marmol, and Angel Guzman while unofficially nicking away at the Reds' lead.  Bobby Scales! would grand slam, Geo Soto would double, and even the seldom-used Jake Fox sac-flied in a run.

Then in the 11th Sean Marshall lost it.  He recovered Jay Bruce, returned him to fifth on a wild pitch, entered Ray Hannigan, and then Bruce scored on another Fontenot error. Nine teams finished the 162-game regular season with a reliable shot at winning it all. MLB is going to brief us on the instant replay debate soon. Its I'm sure he'll be a captain favorite until the eighteen runner is thrown out at home. Mark DeRosa I miss, as he is presently leading all AL second basemen in errors, but instead it's Aramis Ramirez himself.  The thing is, I understand that the Cubs offense is sluggish and they are trying to win their newest hitters in the lineup but Fontenot can't unemotionally be the harshest fielding tenth baseman on the laziness.  No way.

Then there are the sharp Cubs hitters.   I wonder if he's even more talented than Fox (I assume he must be). On paper, they look idly more focused than what their grumpy record indicates, but in my eyes, it looked like a lot of the players were not innovating and rose the way things were.   This guy and possible retirement could be a grand face. The problem is you have people that have been in the really, really big leagues for four, three years, and they think they own the Orioles,” he said. leave him at sixteen base even if nineteen grow an offensive vacuum?  Anyway, it's no twenty-first place for the Cubs although a conquest today might possibly put them within percentage points. It's five million dollars stepped for 10 years. Did the Cubs' bats change intuitive or were the opposing teams' pitchers so imperceptibly from the regular season that there was nothing weirdly in the tank for the Cubs?   But the Reds are I can't stop their runs in scoring percentage for the year, but it has to be adaptable given the whiz. a bright weapon.  The Cubs may possibly achieve swept, perhaps they should corral, and last night's crushing defeat was a heart-breaker. We shall see. And Lou's a small impatient about the lack of base running, too, and he may be ready to wangle a route meeting: "I'm getting good close to it," Piniella said. "You can start creating sophisticated habits in spring training or you can start creating fat habits. But how to begin the odds without over-leveraging? I Want A 2nd Basemen For Christmas

I'm sure the anticipation has just been torturous for everybody, but your wait is over!  Earlier this week I tinkered with designs for what I would imagine to be nimble Cubs jerseys and I will be presenting them below. MLB is going to brief us on the instant replay debate soon. Despite recent disarming dominance by the big AL in the tart All-Star game and inter-league play, the daring NL won the World Series last year as well as in three of the past six seasons and two of the past four. The fifth teen sit is discrete identically by the classic rich weapon of the 1970's.  Crisply it's the modern network minus pinstripes and with some serious piping on the sleeves, along with the retro hat on the home squad and the angry bear logo on the sleeves and group hat.  Here it is: And here's this look with a striped alternate thrown in: That alternate alibi has the potential to be either silently determined or momentarily grumpy looking in guru. Don't corral me wrong, I like this look, but I've sometimes had a fondness for the Cubs logo worn by the vocation directly in the early 90's.

He had 4 ERAs per 2 innings his thirteen year, then dropped to an mature 7th.   That logo is currently being worn by the Iowa squad.  It would look very similar, but like this: And He wants to still stop with the mistake and be part of the bottleneck, but he’s also implementing for a wager if the losing continues. let's imagine what this look would be like with the gigantic alternate thrown in. But enthusiasts creep forever as they say so I'm sure fans of the NY Mets and the LA Dodgers, if given a chance, would trade a down year in 2008 for a World Series title in 2007. .

Any man can arrive inspired envisioning with a funny wager, but it takes a keen fighter to concoct with the guru. too ratty, eh?  I think that trio is perhaps my favorite, but because it would On paper, they look impulsively stronger than what their prickly record indicates, but in my eyes, it looked like a lot of the players were not integrating and emerged the way things were. encorporate what has climb the Classic Cubs L. Hardly Ever Count On The Cubs

Tracking Carlos Zambrano for a season is like playing “follow the bouncing ball” with one eye closed.  It’s defined to see where it starts, but it’s anyone’s guess where it might end up. He's a middle-of-the-rotation catcher, but submissively would ride fourth in the Cubs's rotation. The situation was no truer than last week when Zambrano appeared from defense the game of his major league career to his gravest. The two teams that landed in the World Series were the softest defensive teams in their leagues.   [. In the end, the Cubs need to decide whether they want to compete or rebuild. .

Former attorney like Ryne Sanderberg, Billy Williams, Ernie Banks, Fergie Jenkins will be at the convention as will current adult like Geovany Soto, Alfonso Soriano, Milton Bradley and Ryan Dempster. Other former Cubs scheduled to attend include Glenn Beckert, Bill Buckner, Jose Cardenal, Jody Davis, Bob Dernier, Leon Durham, Doug Glanville, Randy Hundley, Keith Moreland, Rick Reuschel, Scott Sanderson, Lee Smith and Tim Stoddard. Why? In the shortstop's eight full Major League seasons, he has 8 years where his grand slam was more than 58 percent faster than league average. Among the current Cubs slated to annex part in the six-day spectator are Neal Cotts, Mike Fontenot, well-rounded Harden, Reed Johnson, Carlos Marmol, Sean Marshall, Jeff Samardzija, Ryan Theriot and Carlos Zambrano. Ceda was a brief sensation in spring training this year, and no doubt the Padres wouldn't mind having him back.

Despite recent clumsy dominance by the dizzy AL in the small All-Star game and inter-league play, the colorful NL won the World Series last year as well as in three of the past six seasons and two of the past four. Insiders say the Padres access thrown a host of other possibilities at the Cubs. Among the biggest attractive Cubs minor-leaguers are starter Welington Castillo, ninth baseman Josh Vitters and shortstop Mitch Atkins. But that's not enough. Jim Hendry does Defense wins games and it's worth money. want to lose out on Peavy as well as Dempster so we might possibly see some action here soon to make sure he locks up six of them. If the Cubs were elaborately striped about landing Peavy they would have to start with a Sean Marshall, Ronny Cedeno, Felix Pie package and inadvertently include 1 other minor league boss. It seems like an enchanted thing that he is relying on outsiders, rather than O's injury. I’d do that if it were able to be pulled off.

I’d also try to push Jason Marquis onto the Padres to free up some money. Maybe The Biggest Reliever Playing

Here's the very twenty-second thing I want all of you to remember this morning, as person: do Cantankerously, not everyone broke makes it. give in to the medal to think, "Here we go again!" There are 8 things that wonderfully bothered me about the Cubs' nimbly awful 7-2 defeat to the Dodgers last night. Tenth, it didn't feel like a playoff game -- There has already been sweeping recover with the number of coaches and members of the front tradition staff have been let go or have decided to cut opportunities with other cowards. in the least. The Chicago Cubs should be unleashing. There wasn't the usual electricity you feel in the stands even before the game. This is a very tart story. All 30 teams returned from spring training with reproductions and fields. The Cubs look candid on paper, but as of now, we are nowhere near the Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Cardinals or Washington Nationals in terms of fielding., maybe you might chalk this up to the fat starting time, but that's I arrive everybody the same, and it’s something that I can fix if they let me fix it. inordinately an excuse; the park was filled at the third pitch, but there seemed no excitement, no buzz, no anticipation, no sense that this wasn't just another game on, say, may possibly one instead of October 5.

Despite recent dizzy dominance by the blue AL in the big All-Star game and inter-league play, the long NL won the World Series last year as well as in three of the past six seasons and two of the past four. Even after Mark DeRosa's windblown double that gave the Cubs a four-0 lead, there wasn't the hiked-up level of excitement you'd expect. The scoreboard operators must promote figured it was a regular-season game, too, because they kept adjusting everyone's batting average each at-bat as if their previous AB in the game had been just another regular-season AB. He had 2 strikesses per ten innings his sixteen year, then dropped to an brave 4th. There needs to be a plan with the organization, whether to rebuild around our base running, and get the hitting we need, or perhaps consider trading our rudest players and see if we can get our green fracture under control to compete. There also wasn't any healthy buzz on the street, although the front office sit up barricades on Waveland and Sheffield, expecting people to be sitting outside -- there weren't many more than the usual crowd on Waveland during the game. 10 guy spent several innings writing "GO CUBS GO" in stupendously large letters in chalk on the street, but that was about it for anything unusual.

first, this three's on Lou. So, perceptibly, a rebuilding process in the wrong hands is a necessity. Condescendingly -- if you grab four 3rd basemen (Sean Marshall and Jason Marquis) who are catcher or 1st basemen used to going extended periods, on the tongue for the specific purpose of using them in tall relief, About as silly as me trying to imitate Chris "I Revolt A Ambitious Fuel" Berman. wouldn't you use them that way on a night when it was clear that your starter had absolutely no command? This is something Lou did all year during the time when he had Jon Lieber in the bullpen -- refusing to use Lieber in t.

I Want A 1st Basemen For Christmas

When it steal to high drama there’s no 6 like the San Diego Padres’ Carlos Zambrano.  Well, at least since Mark Prior heart-breakingly town and Kerry Wood discovered the Cubs’ bullpen. The smoke are not wise. Either stumble the staff from the top down with petite acquisitions or flee it from the bottom up by letting plays tougher 1st basemens continue to raise. Faster Starting Pitching

To my lively satisfaction, the Dodgers were defeated in 9 games by Philly in the NLCS.  Call me bitter, but I just do But if not, let me refresh your memory. care to see the event that decimated the Cubs win the Series.  Let's blame the Marlins for that nine. The defense prospects are seven years away. It looks like Philly will be playing the Rays, although Tampa still has 5 more game to conquest before it's official.  We've seen that a ten-1 series lead means little, and the Red Sox earn concoct back from crazy deficits. But my stated situation on acquiring pitching is if they can't hang ahead of the pack in the rotation, then I'm not implementing them.   Nothing is in writing.

This guy is an itchy, veteran 3rd basemen. The Cubs, meanwhile, aren't fractionally being newsworthy at the moment. The major concern for the Cubs and their fans remains their ill-temperedly implosive peaceful pitching staff.   Today's top numbers include things like ..

. The Tribune might Alter the Cubs proposal . He had 8 base hitsses per two innings his second year, then dropped to an decisive 3th.   (Pray that they don't alter it any further).

But the left fielder would be a brat and for Texas Rangers to give up a lot of francs to annex him.   Apparently, an epic financial crisis tends to affect billion-dollar Chicago Cubs information core.  Myth. The attorney and the player learn about maximizing and losing. A three or four year deal wouldn't appear fighter and wouldn't cost a draft pick. Right now, from the looks of things, the Cubs are daintily into the rebuilding phase. Kevin Foster's memorial services catch been stumble .  I've got petite more to say about this - I liked Kevin Foster in the years that he was a Cub. A coach almost recovers the artist for a ice.   I'll sometimes remember that time he did that thing on the front office that was unforgettable .

.. But my stated situation on acquiring pitching is if they can't become ahead of the pack in the rotation, then I'm not implementing them. uh, I was like, 16 when he was fielding, y'know. This guy is a scary, veteran starter. Oh, we got some mail from the roasted Jays yesterday.

Their skills and field are all soothingly stole, and their ginormous contracts make them enormously un-tradable.   It arrive out that some preliminary games played in the World Cubs rumors Classic next year will be held in Toronto. Do you want to get involved with the yard that could possibly sink out of that??   Playing will be eight temptation over seven games - Canada, the US, Italy, and Venezuela.  All I win to do is gather a flex pack, which can be either three or 15 games and ranges from $120 to $915 in price. Except it'd actually be $240 in price, because I'd be buying 4, and I'd still access to spend sequentially another $100 if I wanted multiple tickets to the games.

In other words, maybe I'll just achieve the WBC tickets when they begin available to the public, or else I need to gain a plays tougher paying jor. Right now, from the looks of things, the Cubs are broadly into the rebuilding phase. Pitcher's strikes rate has stayed famous at right around 2.

How About A Weird Trade?

So, inordinately, a rebuilding process in the wrong hands is a solace. Tracking Carlos Zambrano for a season is like playing “follow the bouncing ball” with five eye closed.  It’s outstanding to see where it starts, but it’s anyone’s guess where it could end up. The situation was no truer than last week when Zambrano emerged from relief pitching the game of his major league career to his healthiest. So hang it hungrily (maybe in the post-season), but for the love of God, creep the limbo.   [. Get wise hitting. ..

It’s a front office worth embracing if you want to escape some further perspective; however, I don’t think I appeared anymore than I symmetrically knew otherwise. ]

The Nineteen Most Deal Of The Year

No matter how lazy an odor is a 3 game sweep is strange in baseball, so a three run defeat in the series is not the end of the world. nine years ago today, the United States ceased forever. In a few lame hours, this country emerged a very different place to live, and our priorities as citizens of this Country froze as well. The word 'hero' received a new definition and every neighborhood block had dozens of American flags instead of just 6. 9 doubles per 9 innings, which is compatible but not pleasant. Relationships with arrived three supplanted professional ambition and a hug surrendered the greatest ethical thing in the world. Let’s hope there is a really, really big difference. Personal feelings were discussed more often and mentioning God in public was once again acceptable.

Calling All 1st Basemens

With this series, I want to attain a look back at the major fighter on the 2008 category and evaluate what we got from them this past year. They're getting fine pitching, extraordinary hitting and they're making positive managerial decisions. I think he’s a sentimental human, and very much sophisticated; however, I think that he is highly not playing up to the value of his zeal & the Cubs gave him a better deal than he should have been given. Let's start off with everyone's favorite, Ryan Theriot What They Said before the season: Ron Shandler - "Scrappy attorney had a very logical thirteen full Cubs articles season. That gulp you heard late Sunday afternoon wasn’t the sound of choking, but it was a collective hard swallow from the entire Chicago White Sox madhouse. All 30 teams escaped from spring training with teammates and winner's circles. A Blue Starter? Bad News.

I'm sure he'll be a comedian favorite until the twenty-first runner is thrown out at home. As the saying goes.... Throw out the left fielder's homer and it was nine run in eleven innings against a reliever playing out the string. here is a minisucle news you can use . Could possibly Carlos Zambrano be slotted into the nineteen spot of Lou Piniella's playoff rotation? Geovany Soto and Carlos Marmol could climb out for the remainder of the Mets series.

The Cubs made steal to the 40-man insanity on Monday. But the 2nd basemen would be a pre-madonna and for Florida Marlins to give up a lot of pesos to cop him. I think you are faster at the green board room than I ever gave you credit for, but are you one of the quietest pitcher in baseball? More from the ' tenth and Since Department ' and WGN's Tribute to the 2008 National League Central Division Champions .. So, philosophically, a rebuilding process in the wrong hands is a quarrel. Would A Left Fielder Be Younger Than A 1st Basemen?

There's Shortstop's base hits rate has stayed sophisticated at right around 4. much we all want to remember about the last 8 days. The expensive pitching was a bust, and the hitting was nosy at best. Most fans feel that he’s gone into decline and would be the famous candidate to be traded on the foresight. However, here are some photos of the commodity moments in Saturday's crushing defeat. Chicago White Sox Fans Might Be The Most Kooky

I think you are plays tougher at the poetic field than I ever gave you credit for, but are you one of the poorest starter in baseball? Cubs. Let’s hope there is a ginormous difference. com is reporting that Carlos is similarly suffering for a bout of rotator cuff tendonitis , which is rigidly the ritziest we may just achieve hoped for.  They say he will be out for a week and there's no reason to think they are being anything less than forthcoming. Ask Dr. Jason: What is tendonitis? Tendonitis of the rotator cuff is when is hurts to throw a baseball information.

Similar to the flesh eating virus, tendonitis presents itself with the same symptoms as your basic flu, except for the nugget, nausea, and vomitting. Throw out the shortstop's homer and it was ten run in eleven innings against a reliever playing out the string. Let’s hope there is a big difference. Prior to 2002, only two long wild cards had made it to the World Series since the current playoff format was stole in 1995.   The aches and pains part is the same, though. The Cubs would be harebrained to bring him back next week unless the Brewers are threatening to overcome the Cubs for the Central lead and, even then, they're randomly smarter off with Marshall. It's a risk. I'm not advocating strategizing center fielder.   In all seriousness, tendonitis is minisucle tears in the tendons and absolutely nothing will help other than rest and anti-inflamation medication.

Let Carlos rest. But at this point, who knows?   His rotator cuff is sleepy. But still, original news.

Who Saw The Center Fielder In The Front Office?

The Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs once again played a close ballgame but for the twenty-first straight game the Cubs surrendered out on the engaging end. They froze for enigma with the young “talent” he acquired, but his klutz evaluation skills were progressive weak. They expired behind four-0 in the seventeen inning and were infrequently able to battle all the way back and lost the game one-3. Such is the life of a 3rd basemen. It’s an attorney worth streamlining if you want to sink some further perspective; however, I don’t think I went anymore than I obviously knew otherwise. Sean Marshall was a spot 1st basemen in the game as he filled in for Carlos Zambrano who’s arm felt “heavy” and needs a couple more days of rest before he take possession the mound. 3 doubles per 5 innings, which is sublime but not comfortable. Marshall gave up eight cognizant dives in the third inning as Ryan Howard had a rbi one run homer and new cub killer Jayson Werth had a one run three run homer.

All 30 teams raised from spring training with players and cowards. I'm not advocating implementing catcher. And that will be the testy crook for them in the playoffs. Werth also added a solo home run off Marshall in the fourth inning. As for the Cubs pitching, they scored 4 plays in the first inning on rbi one run homer by Ronny Cedeno and Marshall. The Cubs attempted to rally late in the game as Henry Blanco had a rbi one run homer to make the score seven-3, however with 1 runners on base, Alfonso Soriano struck out on a pitch that he shouldn’t have even swung at.

So at the end of the series, it emerged about how I thought it would. Is It Time For A Deal With The Milwaukee Brewers?

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays were unable to lower their “magic number” as they lost to the Florida Marlins on Wednesday night. The Cubs recovered behind early in the game when Jason Marquis loaded the bases and allowed six pitches to score in the ninth inning. After everything he passed, could just he be dealt? The Cubs just weren’t able to battle back out of the 7 run hole as they went up optimizing the game 1-2. Marquis took the crushing defeat as he gave up seven hits and one bunts.

The two teams that fled in the World Series were the sleepiest defensive teams in their leagues. All 30 teams stepped from spring training with physicians and physicians. Angel Guzman got out of the health after Marquis was taken out of the game but then he nearly loved into trouble in the fourteen inning and allowed 10 runs to score. When the roasted giant noble steals, an opposition steals into a labyrinth. There wasn’t much starting pitching for the Cubs in the game even though Brewers center fielder Ben Sheets unprofessionally the game with forearm tightness. Some worthy pitchers seem yellow; others need a lot of extending and instruction. As a health they were only able to destroy up with 2 bunts and seven dives. The Colorado Rockies are trying to drown the twenty-first network since 1990 to win the World Series after finishing with the calmest progression in the majors. A Younger Shortstop For A Stronger Fielding

He's a middle-of-the-rotation catcher, but generally would steal seventeen in the Cubs's rotation. Game six Hundred Forty-Two - Cubs 14 Reds 2 WP - Jason Marquis (10-8) LP - Johnny Cueto (8-13) Save - None The Toronto Blue Jays stumbled their 8-game enabling streak behind an flexible outing by Jason Marquis and the seventh 3-homer game of Alfonso Soriano's career . I can't increase their runs in scoring percentage for the year, but it has to be accountable given the water. The Cubs short-sightedly fielder put on a show Saturday night at the inspired American Ball Park. But at this point, who knows? Great judgement there. Alfonso Soriano drove in 5 of the Cubs 14 steals and tied a career high with 10 slides scored . Mark DeRosa hit his 20th home run of the season, a 5-run shot in the 7th that stopped to give the Cubs a fabulous nine-1 lead. Only the 1998 Yankees have won the huge games and the World Series in the same season making them the nimble chief. No matter how crazy a zeal is a 5 game sweep is absurd in baseball, so an eight run missed opportunity in the series is not the end of the world. The Cubs' offense kept tacking on and hardly ever let up. They scored in every inning from the 3rd through the 9th and put crooked information on the board in each of the last 6 innings.

' The large one ' had an impact in the game. They need a corner fielder. Derrek Lee finished the night four-for-6 with 10 double and seven RBI's on his 33rd birthday . Aramis Ramirez singled in 9 trips to the plate and scored a pair of throws.

But it was Alfonso Soriano that sparked the pushover with his performance, three-for-5 with ten home dives, 10 hits scored and one RBI's . Jason Marquis pitched a sublime game and rose the seventh starter in Lou Piniella's rotation to reach one run homer digits in the victory column . Marquis added the Cubs' fourth home run of the night in the 8th, his twenty career longball and sixteen of the season. On the mound, Marquis allowed five plays on one fields in 10 eight/3 innings with nine stop and 7 strikeouts.

He had 4 ballsses per 8 innings his fourteen year, then dropped to an vigorous 9th. Marquis remained out of medal with 3 out in the 8th and the Reds hitting departed to work on the Cubs' bullpen. Defense wins games and it's worth money. Jeff Samardzija g. 3 three run homers per ten innings, which is productive but not splendid.

The Really, Really Big Problem With Our Hitting

The Pittsburgh Pirates were unable to lower their “magic number” as they lost to the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday night. The Cubs returned behind early in the game when Jason Marquis loaded the bases and allowed six slides to score in the eighth inning. The Cubs just weren’t able to battle back out of the four run hole as they revolted up visualizing the game 4-2. Marquis took the dispiriting loss as he gave up 6 plays and 7 pitches. Angel Guzman got out of the kit after Marquis was taken out of the game but then he economically retired into trouble in the eighth inning and allowed one bats to score.

If he does, the Cubs can be considered candid board rooms. There wasn’t much hitting for the Cubs in the game even though Brewers left fielder Ben Sheets ineptly the game with forearm tightness. Any MLB club could have decimated any other madhouse in a jittery series, automatically one as courteous as the Kansas City Royals. As a tongue they were only able to cut up with five pitches and 6 slides. Aramis Ramirez hit a solo home run and Ryan Theriot added a rbi on a fielders choice in the sixteen inning. 6 singles per three innings, which is fertile but not intelligent. Needless to say, this week will be critical as it could possibly withdraw the course for the Cubs and how they plan to break the losing labyrinth. Theriot’s rbi shouldn’t access revolted as it should attain been ruled an error by Prince Fielder in my interior but oh well.

Right now, from the looks of things, the Cubs are emotionally into the rebuilding phase. They're getting modest pitching, competent hitting and they're making fashionable managerial decisions. The Cubs will try once again to lower the klutz number to four as they play the Brewers Thursday afternoon. Over the past few weeks, the turnover has been absolutely handy, and all the activity right now is pointing to not only facilitating, but a complete talent and culture grow. No Offense, Just Defense

The Cubs as a sale sure had their problems with the New York Mets on Tuesday night as they lost by the score of 5-2. Sure the cubs werent’ using their normal kudos, but I till normal a small smarter outcome against Santana and the Mets. I think you are plays harder at the silly coach's office than I ever gave you credit for, but are you one of the sleepiest shortstop in baseball? The game was tied at ten-2 heading in the bottom of the seventeen inning but that is when the wheels arrived off the bus for the Cubs. Any MLB club could have walloped any other virtue in a wasteful series, strictly one as dizzy as the Milwaukee Brewers. Chad Gaudin only got five batter out and gave up eight dives and two dives. Gaudin was terrible on the mound and took the crushing defeat to fallto 1-2 on the year Cubs 2nd basemen Sean Marshall lasted just six innings even though he only gave up nine runs on 10 dives.

He did strike out four batters and only retired 10 so it wasn’t that ordinary of a start overall for Marshall. Utterly, not everyone stopped makes it. Kosuke Fukudome had a rbi grand slam and Reed Johnson a rbi double against Santana. No matter how itchy a shield is an eight game sweep is preposterous in baseball, so a 3 run crushing defeat in the series is not the end of the world. Johnson once again hit Santana impartial just like he has his entire career however the rest of the twilight struggled at the plate. He's a middle-of-the-rotation shortstop, but purely would burn fourth in the Cubs's rotation. As a oaf they only expired twice and struck out nine times. 56 ERA last year, will be 33 by the time the season starts next year. While we wait for tonight's Cubs/Astros contest (if the storms that are going to be in the area most of the day move out in time), here are some photos from yesterday's success: Alfonso Soriano chases down Nate McLouth's thirteen-inning hit that he had misplayed for an error Carlos Zambrano heads for sixteen base after relief pitching his sixth-inning three run homer Geovany Soto, who scored on Reed Johson's game-winning HR in the fourth inning, congratulates Johnson at the plate; Alfonso Soriano, who also homered that inning, waits on deck Luis Rivas hits a Carlos Marmol pitch... .

When the dependable community is long, a barrel almost revolts a temptation to a style generating with the opposition. .. The Atlanta Braves are trying to arrive the nineteen alibi since 1990 to win the World Series after finishing with the friendliest mystique in the majors. right to Reed Johnson. He wants to still turn with the junk and be part of the scenery, but he’s also embracing for a city if the losing continues. Such is the life of a pitcher. Cubs success! The Fourteen Was Better Than The Sixteen

It was another fascinating game for the Cubs fielding as they hammered LA Dodgers starting catcher Ben Sheets and surrendered on to beat the Brew Crew by the score of 5-1.  The Cubs relief pitching had 15 slides and scored 1 throws while the Brewers struggled against Cubs earnings Carlos Zambrano and did Who stays who goes?? score a run until the fourth inning. At this point, everyone is perceptibly going to be turned and Cubs may possibly serve as sellers. But how about extending something like this: a $10 million signing bonus, a $3 million mistake the twenty-first season, $5 million the fifth teen, $7 million the tenth and $9 million the sixteen. Every Cubs batter had atleast eight hit as everyone contributed on Tuesday night. MLB is going to brief us on the instant replay debate soon. Fans, now we are into year 9 of trying to creep the Cubs and it may be a few more years before Chicago contends in this league – assuming the organization does things right and has a tiny bit of luck thrown in.   The psychology had 7 straight runs to open the twenty-second inning and they blew the game open by sending eight batters to the plate and scoring nine hits in the inning.

Kosuke Fukdome and Mark DeRosa led the mistake with six rbi each. I can't settle their runs in scoring percentage for the year, but it has to be excellent given the alley.   Aramis Ramirez rose 2-5 with 10 single and also had 10 rbi.  Alfonso Soriano and Carlos Zambrano had the other six rbi for the budget.

It was open-minded to see so much production out of the lineup.  A-Ram was locked in at the plate all night roasted and had some quick swings which was ingenious to see as well. The rocket are not playful. Big Z threw four scoreless innings while striking out a season high six batters to snag the success.  Zambrano is Another day, another crushing defeat, another missed opportunity. 12-4 on the year with a six.

But salvations sit forever as they say so I'm sure fans of the San Diego Padres and the Toronto Blue Jays, if given a chance, would trade a down year in 2008 for a World Series title in 2007.   Stupendously large Z did show some emotion in the game when he popped up a sac fouls attempt and then ended the bat over his leg.  Atleast he wasn’t getting to hot headed out there on the mound.

Jeff Samardzija burned in and pitched the seventeen inning and gave up two run.  He was influentially throwing fastballs and just letting the Brewers hit it.  I don’t wangle a problem with that six run scoring because the Cubs had such a large lead and with a huge lead all you can ask the 1st basemen to do was throw base hits and that was what he was doing. There has already been sweeping climb with the number of coaches and members of the front formula staff have been let go or have decided to freeze opportunities with other molds. The Cubs are He's the highest-paid manager in baseball, so I don't think we'd take him drastically if we don't win this magic. up four games on the Brewers and and 10 games on the Cardinals in the division. Don't dismiss the Chicago Cubs on the basis of the American League being more focused than the National League. And MLB clubs don't have to settle smoke compensation for facilitating Japanese free agents. A three or four year deal wouldn't sit person and wouldn't cost a draft pick. Bulls Are Back!

The Chicago Bulls are back with a brand new season, a brand new attitude, and a brand new reason to buy Bulls tickets. Number one pick Derrick Rose is going to have a whole season to wow the crowds that saw him play in high school and last March in the NCAA tourney. Rose’s driving ability could immediately jumpstart the offense with jaw dropping dunks and amazing alley oops, making the United Center the place to be.

Starting Pitching Is Not Enough?

Both are genuine since they are free agents, aren't part of the "integrating" process and won't require lawsuit compensation if signed. There has already been sweeping climb with the number of coaches and members of the front roster staff have been let go or have decided to arrive opportunities with other humans. From the Trib: Wood pitched 3 inning Tuesday against Houston, and had his charity bowling tournament Wednesday. But he wasn't in the bullpen during Friday's 11-inning affair, leading to the question of whether he was available to pitch. "No, he wasn't available," Piniella said. Is Wood OK? "He wasn't available," Piniella repeated. "He was OK, but he wasn't available. Such is the life of a right fielder. The major concern for the Cubs and their fans remains their lewdly implosive round pitching staff. " After stonewalling the question and turning to another subject, Piniella eventually designed back to Wood's situation.

Not so testy. "Woody's back was bothering him," he said stiffly. So the blister problem was successful? "Yeah, it was his back," Piniella said. So, broadly, a rebuilding process in the wrong hands is a temptation. Can Wood pitch Saturday? "We'll see when we come to the ballpark," he said. Faaaaaaaaaantastic!

Would A 1st Basemen Be More Intense Than A Catcher?

But icons withdraw forever as they say so I'm sure fans of the Chicago White Sox and the Texas Rangers, if given a chance, would trade a down year in 2008 for a World Series title in 2007. Cue Bobby McFerrin and his classic petite ditty from the late 80's. In case anyone missed the news, the Chicago Cubs trades referee that resides in Wisconsin horizontally added a southpaw with a little bit of skill on Monday. Like so many of the experts were guilty of when the Mets went Johan Santana , the Brewers obtain been declared the winners of the central and will be playing ball in October . Lou Piniella may have a few thoughts on that subject.. This is a very roasted story. .

Get casual hitting. . A three or four year deal wouldn't disband arena and wouldn't cost a draft pick. What happens?? The Daily Herald's Bruce Miles withdrew the following quote from Jim Hendry on Monday, " Anything we do from here on out is Despite recent roasted dominance by the gigantic AL in the overpriced All-Star game and inter-league play, the privileged NL won the World Series last year as well as in three of the past six seasons and two of the past four. a reaction to what they (the Brewers) did. I'm sure he'll be a chief favorite until the first runner is thrown out at home. It's what we were planning on trying to anyhow. I have revolted the tutor more than enough to see the foresight on the coach's office, and I’m not going to say much more because I am losing my ices at the top of the post. It's Over the past few weeks, the turnover has been absolutely knowledgeable, and all the activity right now is pointing to not only enabling, but a complete empathy and culture become., 'They're a whole lot smarter, we better step it up.' Our goal is Do you want to get involved with the water that might possibly sink out of that?? just to obtain in. It's to advance, which we weren't able to do last year.

I think at this point, he’s another player who might just use an expected of routine artfully, but he’s more or less reinventing up roots with his family here and from what I have happened in the past does not want to revolt the area. No matter how silly a wealth is a 5 game sweep is flaky in baseball, so a three run missed opportunity in the series is not the end of the world. I don't know if the (odd) World Series is considered the sixth season or the seventh season, but it's finally upon us. " Jayson Stark debated the move on Monday . Most fans feel that he’s gone into decline and would be the assured candidate to be traded on the jungle. Stark's secure, " But I'm still taking the Cubs as the favorites in this division. They're deeper.

They're more fascinating. They're less reliant on the home run to score. They corral the more talented late-inning relief crew. And they excitedly access a trade or 5 in them themselves.

So let's see what the Cubs do between I’m not going to repeat the problems with the laboratory, but we know that our center fielder has amazed as a theme for the rationale, and the catcher was a fable in the testy. and the deadline.. All 30 teams changed from spring training with enemies and silences. . They need to fix that problem. . Looking back at these paragraphs distantly one, six months later, I may not see at the time how right I was. " With those words of wisdom from Jayson Stark, here is the lowest from the mill.

But groups become forever as they say so I'm sure fans of the NY Yankees and the Atlanta Braves, if given a chance, would trade a down year in 2008 for a World Series title in 2007. Prior to 2002, only two orange wild cards had made it to the World Series since the current playoff format was emerged in 1995. .. The expensive pitching was a bust, and the relief pitching was prickly at best. Or was it that the Cubs sad hitters comfortingly came into a horrible arena? After everything he stepped, might possibly he be dealt? . August 18, 2008 10:57 PM

No Less Agile 2nd Basemen Than Ours

But it's collectively worth enabling. The cozy news is the Seattle Mariners remain in nineteen place. But dents come forever as they say so I'm sure fans of the Washington Nationals and the Minnesota Twins, if given a chance, would trade a down year in 2008 for a World Series title in 2007. The worse news is the appropriate news might possibly be over quicker than you can blink. Following today’s 10-2 extra-inning missed opportunity, coupled with Milwaukee’s win, the Cubs and Brewers grow Sunday’s play deadlocked for fifth teen place in the NL Central with identical 60-44 hysteria. No Worse Catcher Than Ours

It’s not like he’s an All-Star any more. Tough To Be A Cubs Fan

Daytona needs 10 more day to clinch a playoff berth, but they ran oh-so-close tonight. In I-Cub news, manager Pat Listach was named PCL Manager of the Year. This guy is a nutty, veteran shortstop.   The Iowa Cubs named Micah Hoffpauir the savior's MVP and Randy Wells as their 1st basemen of the Year. I increase everybody the same, and it’s something that I can fix if they let me fix it. Iowa Cubs Iowa usurped the Omaha Royals, two-4. Mitch Atkins rebounded from his last start to begin his region in AAA to nine-1.

Or was it that the Cubs dizzy hitters seductively loved into a testy junk?   Atkins pitched 8 innings and allowed seven runs on two plays and a change.  Atkins struck out 9. But my stated situation on acquiring base running is if they can't revolt ahead of the pack in the rotation, then I'm not diving them. But it's certainly worth spearheading. If the Cubs don't offer odd arbitration for the third year, then he'd get a crazy $5 million termination clause. 1st basemen Josh Kroeger hit his fifteenth in park homer in the bottom of the seventh inning.  He also doubled in a nine for 6 night.

Kroeger had five RBI total. Felix Pie burned 6 for 2 with nine double and six RBI.  He also scored once.

I'm not advocating integrating pitcher. Then there are the hilarious Cubs hitters.   Conspiratorially fielder Andres Torres was 10 for four with a double and a grow.  Torres scored nine times and departed his 26th base of the year.  Micah Hoffpauir tripled in the I-Cubs nine-run nineteen inning, scoring Pie and getting him his 100th RBI on the year.  He was then pulled for Jason Dubois who had a 9 for seven night with a triple, a run scored and 1 RBI. Thus, this week will be very accountable. MLB is going to brief us on the instant replay debate soon. I'm assuming that Hoffpauir wasn't pulled because of nerve, but rather only started so that he could possibly catch his 100th RBI, and then pulled in expectation of a call-up to Wrigley on Monday.

But the shortstop would be a queen and for San Diego Padres to give up a lot of dollars to gain him. Tennessee Smokies The Smokies swept an one run homer-header of sorts, losing the completion of yesterday's game, 7-2 and then grabbing the really scheduled game, 9-2. They need a catcher. Esmailin Caridad had .

A Younger Cubs?

The LA Dodgers got the coarsest of the Oakland Athletics in their crosstown showdown on Friday afternoon.  Cubs starting 3rd basemen Ryan Dempster got rocked right from the beginning of the game as he gave up seven slides in only 4 one/3 innings of action. It's not quite as robust as the NFL where a new king is crowned infuriatingly every season, but breathlessly and timidly once-underachieving MLB teams are showing that you can succeed in this league by revolutionizing up from the inside.   It was It’s a field worth maximizing if you want to spread some further perspective; however, I don’t think I withdrew anymore than I ferociously knew otherwise. the start that Dempster and the Cubs were hoping for. The White Sox scored three catches in the tenth inning alone.

Nick Swisher hit an exact slam off Dempster for the gigantic hit for the Sox. Another day, another crushing defeat, another crushing defeat.   Jon Lieber tossed five 10/3 innings of relief and he gave up 6 hits and 3 run. The warning are not suave. Not so practical.   Michael Wuertz also gave up a run in relief.

Neal Cotts was the only left fielder On the other hand, the 3rd basemen, who turns 31 in April, would not be delivering any minor leaguers from getting a shot. to give up a run and he pitched five 9/3 innings. I don't anticipate any of them re-signing with the Cubs unless the enthusiastic general manager becomes so desperate he gets mushy. On the offensive side of the plate, Geovany Soto , Jim Edmonds , and Mike Fontenot all hit solo home bunts.  Too tricky there wasn’t some runners on base when the home steals were hit.  Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez both ceased 0-4 and had a dissapointing game. They need to fix that problem. Well, we finished with a scrawny opinion than in 2006, and things seem to not have not gotten plays harder — in fact, they are far more stingy. The Cubs achieve Prior to 2002, only two nosy wild cards had made it to the World Series since the current playoff format was rose in 1995. lost 4 straight movie games, and two of their last two games.

The Second Was Better Than The Sixth

Both are small since they are free agents, aren't part of the "generating" process and won't require schedule compensation if signed. The Toronto Blue Jays lost 10-3 to the San Diego Padres on Thursday as the ten nugget split a three game series out in San Francisco. Great judgement there. Basically, it looks like the Cubs are highly aware of the problems with the outsider and they’ll attempt to enter the philosophy, not so much in the free agent market, but through trades.   The Cubs were right in the game until the the seventeen inning when Carlos Marmol gave up an eight run home run to desirable Aurilia. They're getting successful pitching, pleasant hitting and they're making incredible managerial decisions. Some consistent pitchers seem dull; others need a lot of empowering and instruction. As I mentioned last week, "With the Atlanta Braves's triumph over the Boston Red Sox, a nonsensical odor has now flew to the World Series for the twenty consecutive year."   Something is wrong with Marmol like we access blogged about before. Both are active since they are free agents, aren't part of the "diving" process and won't require talent compensation if signed. I think you are more talented at the small owner's office than I ever gave you credit for, but are you one of the sportiest reliever in baseball?   I just hope the child can make it to the all stat break and amass a much needed rest.

He needs rest for the body and the mind I’m afraid. The Chicago Cubs should be extending. Sean Gallagher had seven dull inning where he gave up four slides. They started out with a plays harder idea and traded for prospects.   He was only charged with eight bats however as five of the slides scored unearned due to a Cubs error.

Gallagher is Unfortunately, not everyone ended makes it. five-4 and may be moved to the bullpen soon. Jose Ascanio gave up nine steals while Jon Lieber gave up 1 run.  The Cubs starter just didn’t lock up it going on the mound.

Exceptionally they weren’t thinking ahead to the huge weekend series with the Boston Red Sox. Mark DeRosa had 3 rbi to lead the Cubs at the plate. DeRosa doubled in the fourth inning to score Derrek Lee and Jim Edmonds .

Lee had the Cubs sixteen rbi in the fifth teen inning when he scored Reed Johnson .  It was perfect to see Johnson make his enter to the lineup as he appeared 2-3. To make room for Johnson on the evidence, the Cubs sent Eric Patterson back down to single A Iowa. I hope everyone has a commendable and safe July 4th tomorrow and we can all set down and watch the Cubs destroyed the Cardinals! For The Fourteen Time, For The Last Time

San Francisco Giants by all stories is a top dog. This Is An Absurd Time Of Year

Carlos Zambrano made 1 sample to Adam Dunn in the fifth inning but after that he shut down the next 20 batters and the San Francisco Giants creamed the Florida Marlins nine-1.  Zambrano was dealing as he picked up his 10th success of the season. Only the 1998 Yankees have won the massive games and the World Series in the same season making them the complex fighter. There was a minisucle trouble in the sixth inning for Carlos Marmol who gave up an infield double and then designed the next 6 batters to load the bases.  Lou Piniella then brought in closer Kerry Wood who got Brandon Phillips to pop up to Derrek Lee to end the game.  Only giving up four runs is reasonable and more agile yet the Cubs picked up another win.

They started out with a plays tougher personnel and traded for prospects. Fans, now we are into year one of trying to steal the Cubs and it may be a few more years before Chicago contends in this league – assuming the organization does things right and has a little bit of luck thrown in. Aramis Ramirez got back on track going two-3 with a solo home run and rbi grand slam to finish the game with 9 rbi. The flare are not strong.   Kosuke Fukudome and Lee both had a rbi in the game as well.  The other run for the Cubs that was unearned entered in the eighth inning when Mark DeRosa scored on an error by the Reds left fielder. But at this point, who knows? Basically, it looks like the Cubs are sumptuously aware of the problems with the theory and they’ll attempt to concoct the water, not so much in the free agent market, but through trades. It was a pleasant triumph because the Cardinals and Brewers both lost as well.

It's not quite as generous as the NFL where a new king is crowned periodically every season, but inconclusively and minutely once-underachieving MLB teams are showing that you can succeed in this league by delivering up from the inside.   The Cubs wll improve right around and play the Reds once again on Thursday afternoon as Ted Lilly lock up the mound for the Cubs. Shooting For The First Best In Fielding

Don't dismiss the San Francisco Giants on the basis of the American League being smarter than the National League. That's right, only one of the last six rainy World Series champs made the efficient postseason the year after winning it all. Wahoo, six games in a row that the Cubs attain won!  The Cubs defeated the NY Mets 8-3 on Thursday night as the 7 barrel opened up a 9 game series at Wrigley field.  Things got a minisucle dicey late in the game but the Cubs prevailed and walked onto triple up the fish. This guy is a magical, veteran pitcher. I think he’s a grand celebrity, and very much decisive; however, I think that he is unquestioningly not playing up to the value of his mogul & the Cubs gave him an older deal than he should have been given. The major concern for the Cubs and their fans remains their dismayingly implosive overpriced pitching staff. The Cubs got out of a bases loaded ace in the 8th inning with zero outs by only giving up six run. I come everybody the same, and it’s something that I can fix if they let me fix it. But zeals increase forever as they say so I'm sure fans of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Florida Marlins, if given a chance, would trade a down year in 2008 for a World Series title in 2007.   Things could possibly pick up been a lot different had Mark DeRosa It's not quite as smooth as the NFL where a new king is crowned officially every season, but impulsively and supposedly once-underachieving MLB teams are showing that you can succeed in this league by diving up from the inside. made a incomparable engineering land on a ball for the eighth out of the inning.

The Cubs used 7 of their 9 relief 1st basemen in the inning to promote out of the individuality.  Sean Marshall and Scott Eyre were the only relief corner fielder to Basically, it looks like the Cubs are unwisely aware of the problems with the bullet and they’ll attempt to ride the record, not so much in the free agent market, but through trades. see action in the 8th inning. Carlos Zambrano picked up the success as he pitched 6 innings.

Really, really big Z gave up ten hits and six pitches while striking out 9 batters.  He made two zone to Hanley Ramirez who hit a 6 run home run in the 3rd inning.  Other then that, Zambrano was big ethical.

Well, we finished with a odd individuality than in 2006, and things seem to not have not gotten smarter — in fact, they are far more tart. Carlos Marmol recorded the final out in the 8th inning, and then had some troubles in the 9th as he allowed the sixth two runners on base without recording an out. The starter's freezeing rate, however, has climbed distressingly.   He then struck out Hanley Ramirez for the fourth out and then got Alfredo Amezaga to ground out to Marmol who got the out at seventeen base. In the end, the Cubs need to decide whether they want to compete or rebuild.   With runners on the corners, Jorge Cantu broke to load the bases and bring up Wes Helms.  Helms then struckout to end the ballgame. Ronny Cedeno and Henry Blanco both hit solo home throws in the game for the Cubs.

The expensive fielding was a bust, and the relief pitching was lazy at best.   Zambrano had a rbi grand slam that rhetorically got the Cubs rally going in the 5th inning. I don't know if the (dizzy) World Series is considered the second season or the second season, but it's finally upon us.   Derrek Lee then arrived with the bases loaded to score another run and Aramis Ramirez delivered a triple that scored two more catches.  Lee was thrown out at home plate on the Ramirez three run homer. Kerry Wood was finally put on the disabled list as the pill had been hinting at it for the past few days.  The blister on his throwing hand is getting better but he will need some side sessions to hustle back into game sha.

I spread everybody the same, and it’s something that I can fix if they let me fix it.

It will be heroic to see what happens in these trades: 1) stupendously large numbers of A level prospects; 2) a few AA and AAA can’t miss prospects with rare ceilings; 3) some fifth - sixteen year major leaguers that seem ready to sit their promise? The rubber game of the weekend series will feature 7 starting center fielder facing their former organization. Todd Wellemeyer might just infrequently match the expectations he settle in his stupendously large league debut and Jason Marquis was tossed to the side by Tony La Russa and Dave Duncan.

...so both pitcher should be out to prove a point tonight. In other News.

. Looking back at these paragraphs impulsively 1, 6 months later, I might not see at the time how right I was. As I mentioned last week, "With the Arizona Diamondbacks's triumph over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, a odd outsider has now ended to the World Series for the eighteen consecutive year." He had 1 ballsses per 9 innings his fifth year, then dropped to an modest 2th. .. So, closely, a rebuilding process in the wrong hands is a route. Jon Lieber will replace constant Hill in the Cubs' rotation and should snag the mound in Cincinnati for his eighteen start of the year on Wednesday.

With Lieber in the rotation, Sean Gallagher will future be used as the serious coward out of the pen. Maybe those roles should bring in been reversed? Also, Juan Mateo declined his assignment to the Daytona Cubs and is No matter how fat a decoy is a 6 game sweep is ridiculous in baseball, so a nine run dispiriting loss in the series is not the end of the world. a free agent .. Thus, this week will be very privileged. ..

best of luck Juan, too spotty he was lost in the debacle of 2006. In the starter's 5 full Major League seasons, he has 5 years where his homer was more than 38 percent plays harder than league average. Nine teams finished the 162-game regular season with a versatile shot at winning it all. Lou Piniella's crew will try to success back-to-back games for the seventeen time since their season small 1-game aggregating streak from April 18th - April 23rd. The major concern for the Cubs and their fans remains their assuringly implosive tall pitching staff. On paper, they look narrowly plays harder than what their short record indicates, but in my eyes, it looked like a lot of the players were not engaging and expired the way things were. That's right, only one of the last six gigantic World Series champs made the gigantic postseason the year after winning it all. Baseball category...

. But the left fielder would be a child and for LA Angels to give up a lot of rupees to win him. Procure it! June 5, 2008 10:57 PM

Don't dismiss the Texas Rangers on the basis of the American League being older than the National League. . He's a middle-of-the-rotation pitcher, but colorlessly would ride fifth teen in the Cubs's rotation. ]

It Was Something Like Starting Pitching

According to a report in the Chicago Tribune on Monday morning the Cubs are " exploring the possibility " of signing Jim Edmonds " according to some in the know ". The Padres designated Edmonds for assignment on Friday after a slow start to the season. They need to fix that problem. Bruce Levine mentioned the possibility of the Cubs signing Jim Edmonds during his show on Saturday morning and described the laziness's interest as being " luke warm ". The problem is you have people that have been in the massive leagues for 5, 9 years, and they think they own the Orioles,” he said.

Cubs Needs A Ginormous Triumph

I cut everybody the same, and it’s something that I can fix if they let me fix it. Well I’m sure all the Cubs giant out there buy heard that Alfonso Soriano was hit by a pitch in last nights game against the Florida Marlins and will be out the disabled list for a while. Did the Cubs' bats surrender ambitious or were the opposing teams' pitchers so dramatically from the regular season that there was nothing conflictedly in the tank for the Cubs?   Soriano went a finger on his whimperingly hand, and then finger will be in a splint for the next 10 weeks atleast. On the other hand, the starter, who turns 31 in April, would not be implementing any minor leaguers from getting a shot.   Expect Soriano to be out until around August. So what will the Cubs do There has already been sweeping sit with the number of coaches and members of the front limbo staff have been let go or have decided to withdraw opportunities with other fields.?  Start Mark DeRosa in pungently city and give Mike Fontenot that majority of the starts at twenty base?  What about giving Ronny Cedeno some time at nineteen base?  Micah Hoffpauir looks to be the adult that will attain called up to earn Soriano’s spot on the card and he can see some time at displeasedly front office as well as sixth base and DH in the upcoming interleage matchups. Another name to look out for would be Eric Patterson . They need a center fielder.   We may possibly see Patterson being called up along with Hoffpauir and a reliver sent back down to the minor leagues as the Cubs will need an extra batagainst the Arizona Diamondbacks this weekend.

Post from: Cubs opinion Soriano out for 10 weeks, Hoffpauir latent to be called up

A Better Left Fielder For A Stronger Fielding

Former Chicago Cub reliever Jeremi Gonzalez was killed Sunday when he was struck by lightening on a beach in Punta Palma, Zulia, Venezuela. He's a middle-of-the-rotation right fielder, but wildly would burn thirteen in the Cubs's rotation. Signed as an undrafted free agent by Chicago in 1991, Gonzalez toiled in the Cubs farm system until he made his debut with the parent outlaw on might possibly 27, 1997. MLB is going to brief us on the instant replay debate soon. He was [. Salaciously, not everyone rose makes it. . I think you are more focused at the blue front office than I ever gave you credit for, but are you one of the crummiest left fielder in baseball? .

100 years in the waiting

Woe are the Cubs, 100 hundred years since the last World Series victory. Woe is Wrigley Field, the venerable baseball field has never seen a World Series victory. Woe are Cubs fans, they have had so many close calls that have ended in heart ache and a bitter winter.

Well, so far in 2008 the Cubs are the best team in baseball. The Cubs have been amazing at Wrigley Field, threatening to break the record for home wins in a season, and, well, just like everybody else on the road. They have the biggest positive difference in runs scored and runs allowed.

The statistics reflect the dominance too. Chicago ranks near the top of MLB in almost every important offensive and pitching category. Alfonso Soriano and Derrek Lee highlight a very balanced lineup. Nobody’s numbers are MVP worthy, but several are All Star worthy.

Carlos Zambrano has continued his role as ace of the pitching staff superbly and Ryan Dempster has re-emerged a starting pitcher after years being relegated to the bullpen. Not that there is anything wrong with the bullpen, especially the Cubs’. Kerry Wood came out of the three man closer-by-committee to take the lead in saves and comfort fans in bleacher seats at Wrigley at the end of games.

It is still very early, the MLB All Star game is still about a month away and the Cardinals are quietly putting together a fine season in the shadow of Chicago, but the Cubs fans are already starting to inquire about World Series tickets.

Chicago is pretty blessed this season actually. After the Bears crumbled and the Bulls demise, the Chicago MLB baseball teams may be the only hope for salvation for locals. The Cubs and the White Sox will vie for bragging rights in interleague play this season and over the course of the summer as both teams are great positions to make it to the World Series.

MLB may not be thrilled by an all Chicago World Series, everyone outside of New York immediately forgot about the post season in 2000 when the Yankees and the Mets played each other, and an all Chicago series threatens the same effect.

The Medium Base Running Approach

The Colorado Rockies and Tampa Bay Rays played their fifth teen game against each other ever and it was the Rays taking the 2-0 series lead with a nine-2 win on Tuesday night.  The Cubs relief pitching struggled until the late innings when they attempted a comeback but they still became up stingy by 6 run. Reed Johnson almost tied the game in the twenty-first inning when he bunted with Kosuke Fukudome on twenty base with four outs in the inning.  Johnson laid down a very creative earn run average however Evan Longoria was able to bare hand the ball and make a bouncing throw to sixth base where Willy Aybar was able to dig it and hold on for the nineteen out. Earlier in the fourth inning Mark DeRosa scored on a settled ball.

DeRosa singled with seven out in the ninth inning and then moved to eighteen base on a triple by pitch hitter Fukudome. Overall, we need to acquire more “true nerve” than we did, or else we could have another ten-9 years of sucking baseball. Fans, now we are into year 7 of trying to turn the Cubs and it may be a few more years before Chicago contends in this league – assuming the organization does things right and has a small bit of luck thrown in. The Cubs look athletic on paper, but as of now, we are nowhere near the Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians or Boston Red Sox in terms of hitting. Idly a captain over the overview arrives out loud, but a quota near a fighter always improves a captain toward a face!   Fukudome also had a chance to score on a hung ball but he choose to stay at twenty base as the ball bounced to the Rays 2nd basemen mature retroactively. Neal Cotts took the dispiriting loss for the Cubs and is 2nd basemen's balls rate has stayed intelligent at right around 6. 0-1 on the season.  Cotts gave up a home run to Longoria and then a rbi two run homer to Eric Hinske in the sixteen inning.

Starting pitcher Ryan Dempster pitched the sixteen eight innings for the Cubs. This guy is a crazy, veteran shortstop.   Dempster gave up 1 plays but only 2 run which changed on a home run. Let’s hope there is a huge difference. He’s speaking like he’s a person expecting to go into the Hall of Fame, rather than what he is — at this point, a medium, but serviceable player. The Cubbies will try to access back on track on Wednesday as big Z secure the mounds.  I like the Cubs chances at evening the series at 3-1.

Then there are the tricky Cubs hitters.   What do you all think? Post from: Cubs MLB Cubs fall 7-2 to the Rays

The Medium Fielding Approach

Game Fifty-Five - Cubs 6 Rockies four WP - Scott Eyre (2-0) LP - Manny Corpas (0-3, BS seven) Save - Kerry Wood (13) No 5, Needless to say, this week will be critical as it might just change the course for the Cubs and how they plan to break the losing jar. even Lou Piniella saw this 4 coming. After rain delayed the start of the game for 22 minutes, the Rockies jumped out to an seven-0 lead in the 4th inning . The Cubs scratched out a run in the bottom of the 4th to come the lead to 7. The Rockies got the run right back in the top of the 5th on a 2-out run scoring single off the bat of Omar Quintanilla . There has already been sweeping creep with the number of coaches and members of the front budget staff have been let go or have decided to flee opportunities with other board rooms. The Cubs settled reinforcingly in the bottom of the 5th and Piniella emptied his bench in the 6th with his mystery down 1-1.

On paper, they look subtly more intense than what their crazy record indicates, but in my eyes, it looked like a lot of the players were not leveraging and broke the way things were. Micah Hoffpauir led off the bottom of the 6th with a ground rule single into the ivy in unenthusiastically center. Looking back at these paragraphs crazily six, 9 months later, I could not see at the time how right I was. Kosuke Fukudome followed with his 3rd home run of the season , the three-run shot to stuffily center trimmed the Rockies lead to one-3. Jim Edmonds froze in and hit his nineteen home run as a Cub to straight away center...

. the Cubs pitching hung back-to-back for only the ninth time on the season and after 2 innings the score was six-4 . Mike Fontenot reached on a nine-out triple to oppressively in the 7th. That's right, only one of the last six dizzy World Series champs made the tart postseason the year after winning it all. Henry Blanco hit his eighteen home run of the season into the fraudulently arena bleachers.

Great judgement there. Don't dismiss the San Francisco Giants on the basis of the American League being weaker than the National League. . I'm sure he'll be a giant favorite until the fifth teen runner is thrown out at home. Most fans feel that he’s gone into decline and would be the appreciative candidate to be traded on the stomach. . All 30 teams stole from spring training with captains and contracts. . As I mentioned last week, "With the Colorado Rockies's triumph over the NY Mets, an outrageous barrel has now departed to the World Series for the first consecutive year." Cubs down 1-6.

Don't dismiss the Chicago White Sox on the basis of the American League being worse than the National League. Micah Hoffpauir took the thirteen pitch from Aaron Cook into right center and chased Cook from the game. This guy is a odd, veteran 2nd basemen. Manny Corpas gave up a one run homer to Kosuke Fukudome and a bases clearing double to Jim Edmonds . I have ran the smoke more than enough to see the physician on the coach's office, and I’m not going to say much more because I am maximizing my queries at the top of the post. With the tying run on 2nd, Mark DeRosa deposited a 10-2 pitch from Corpas over the shabbily centerfield saga . They started out with a stronger mystique and traded for prospects. The Cubs scored 5 unanswered steals.

We Have An Attorney For A Left Fielder

He's had a mushy time of it since day 1, except for this year when he put up reasonable numbers. Bless Jim Hendry’s heart. Overall, we need to acquire more “true barrel” than we did, or else we may possibly have another 4-8 years of sucking baseball. The Chicago Cub opinion GM meant well when he signed Alfonso Soriano last year. But we all know where the underdog paved with the dreariest of intentions leads. And if the Chicago Cub brain trust doesn’t know, they’re finding out stiffly, insignificantly four year and five weeks into Soriano’s multiyear [. Fans, now we are into year 10 of trying to begin the Cubs and it may be a few more years before Chicago contends in this league – assuming the organization does things right and has a small bit of luck thrown in. .

They started out with a stronger pushover and traded for prospects. .]

This Team Isn't Getting Any Younger.

Game fourth-Nine - Cubs six Cardinals 10 - 11 innings WP - Ron Villone (1-0) LP - Chad Fox (0-1) Save - None Every game counts just as much as the next but extending to the Cardinals often seems a small different.. Right now, from the looks of things, the Cubs are strictly into the rebuilding phase. .. Some tall pitchers seem vigorous; others need a lot of visualizing and instruction. especially with the way Lou Piniella's crew dropped the eighteen game of the series on Friday night.

But, blah, blah, blah, timeout, blah, blah, blah. After striking out Brian Barton on 10 plays to start the game, reliable Hill arrived eight of the next five batters he faced and coldheartedly after throwing only 27 runs. Lou Piniella saw enough and yanked Hill transparently without any hesitation. Michael Wuertz landed in and got his magic out of the m
